Day 3. Cali – Hacienda Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Passengers have the option to choose between visiting Providencia Ecological Park or Hacienda El Paraíso before getting to know Buga. Providencia Ecological Park is made up of two main spaces:
Hacienda Piedechinche: an architectural jewel that reflects the essence of traditional Valle del Cauca architecture. In this place it is possible to relive life from past times, exploring the customs, utensils, and furniture characteristic of the colonial period.
Sugar Cane Museum: offers a tour through different stations that display traditional sugar mills from various regions of Colombia. This experience allows an understanding of the evolution of these machines over time and their value within the agricultural history of the country. All of this takes place in a spectacular natural environment, surrounded by birds, majestic trees, flowering gardens, and streams that provide a calm and charming atmosphere.
On the other hand, Hacienda El Paraíso is recognized for its architectural beauty and lush gardens. Built in the 19th century, it combines colonial elements and is considered a symbol of the cultural heritage of Valle del Cauca. In addition, it is famous for having been the setting of the novel María by the writer Jorge Isaac, one of the most representative works of Latin American romantic literature. After the tour of the selected place, we will enjoy a typical Valle del Cauca lunch and continue on to Buga, where we will visit the Centenary Basilica of the Lord of Miracles and have time to purchase religious items or souvenirs from the place.
